How We Review Dating Platforms

Every platform featured on Adult Review Hub goes through our 6-step testing methodology before receiving a rating. No platform can pay for placement. No sponsor influences our rankings. Here is exactly how we test.
Our 6-Step Testing Methodology
Step 1: Account Creation & Identity Verification
We create real profiles using genuine photos and verified email addresses. We test every registration flow – including identity verification processes where available – to evaluate how well each platform screens for bots and fake accounts.
Step 2: Premium Subscription Purchase
We purchase premium memberships on every platform using real payment methods. This lets us evaluate the full feature set, billing transparency, and whether premium features actually deliver value beyond the free tier.
Step 3: Profile Authenticity Audit
Over 3-6 months, we interact with hundreds of profiles on each platform. We track response rates, message quality, and how many profiles show signs of being genuine versus automated or scam accounts. We estimate the percentage of real versus fake profiles.
Step 4: Privacy & Security Assessment
We examine each platform’s privacy policy, data handling practices, photo protection features, and billing discretion. We test whether personal information is adequately protected and whether the platform shares data with third parties.
Step 5: Feature & Usability Testing
We evaluate every feature: search and matching algorithms, messaging systems, video chat, community features, mobile app experience, and customer support responsiveness. Features are tested on both desktop and mobile.
Step 6: 60-Day Re-Evaluation
Dating platforms change constantly – new features, policy updates, shifting user bases. We re-test every platform every 60 days and update our reviews accordingly. A 5-star rating from last year means nothing if the platform has declined.
Our Rating Criteria
Each platform receives a score from 1 to 5 stars based on the following weighted criteria:

Our Independence
We do not accept payment for reviews or rankings. We earn commissions when readers sign up for platforms through our affiliate links, but this has zero impact on our ratings. We have given low ratings to platforms we could have profited more from promoting, because they simply did not meet our standards.
If a platform wants a better rating from us, there is only one way to earn it: be a better platform.
